Hiding cable from TV

Hi. I have a TV mounted on a chimney breast in my daughters bedroom. I will be using cable trunking to hide the power cable from the TV to the socket further along the same wall. There is no furniture on this wall as its above the recess where the fireplace once was and there isn't room for anything.

How do people hide the large square block (sorry don't know what its called) on the cable? This obviously wont fit in the trunking. I'm sure the resolution is obvious but i just cant imagine how people do it.
Thank you 😊

I've never had a box like that on any of my tv cables. Just a standard wire with plug on the end.

It's a AC-DC converter or black box power supply as some people like to call them. Most of the time they are integrated in the TV but sometimes they are external. Most tvs come without them but the smaller cheaper ones might have them.

Not surprisingly it is not there for decoration - you need it. The only way to disguise it is probably to mount it behind the TV if the bracket allows. If the power cable on the AC side (wall plug socket) is not captive then you can probably get an extra long replacement cable that goes from behind the TV bracket to the mains plug.

It just a small, cheap tv in my daughters room. I think thats a good way round it. I will get a longer power cable and perhaps use sticky velcro pads to fix the black box behind. Thank you 😀
