a small shower room. 2.1m x 1.4m

It needs shower a basin and a toilet plus a heated towel rail (no central heating)

The door can be anywhere along one of the longer walls. I'm trying to work out whether it is large enough but I'm decision fatigued and getting nowhere.

We have a similar sized shower room. Door to right of long wall. Toilet directly in front of door, next to short wall. Sink in the middle. Shower on the left, running the length of the short wall. Hope that makes sense. Plenty of room.

Very interesting, we have exactly the same in our ensuite. Towel rail immediately to the left as you enter. Shower is a big one and do had to tile three walls with one glass section.

recommend putting in a pocket door if an option.

thats helpful thank you. Do you mean the toilet has its back up against the short wall or if you sit on the toilet are you looking straight out of the door (so back against the long wall)?

Pocket door is a really good suggestion thank you.

Toilet with back along long wall.

We’re planning a similar sized shower room as part of our build/renovation. I found going on the Victorian Plumbing website and using their planning tool really useful.

We’ve gone for a central-ish, outward opening door. Sink opposite the doorway, toilet to the left of sink, tall thin radiator/towel rail to the right of the door (so you can grab a warm towel as you get out of the shower). Walk-in shower to the far right of the doorway (3-sided with shower on short wall alongside sink).

curlywillow · 27/03/2024 21:38

Ive just been playing around on that planner and I think it's maybe a little small.

Ours is the same width, but about half a metre longer, which does help and won’t be our main bathroom.

Could you go for a smaller than standard sink to give you more wall space on the plumbing wall, iyswim?

Driverpicksthemusic · 27/03/2024 22:04

Corner sink and toilet and offset quadrant shower, with outward opening or pocket door?

This is oodles of space. Door in the middle of the long wall (pocket door is a good shout!). Sink opposite the door, loo on one side, back to the short wall, shower on the other side.

Split the long wall something like 50cm / 75cm (door) / 85cm (shower). That gives you a very generous 1.4m x 0.85m shower plus lots of room for sink & loo.

NewFriendlyLadybird · 27/03/2024 22:26

Ours is 1.3 x 1.6 m. Corner loo facing corner shower enclosure. Heated towel rail below the window on one long side. Small sink next to the shower on the short side opposite the loo. Door next to the shower on the other long side. Not an excess of room but not cramped either.

Something a bit like this (layout only!)

Put a 1.2m shower at one end with sliding door then a 0.2 deep boxing not full height with short projection wc and wall hung sink. Wc nearer wall for roll holder and radiator. If saving space /width I also like the Tavistock Match combined wc and vanity

fabricstash · 27/03/2024 22:52

The 1.4 is fine but longer would be slightly better

curlywillow · 28/03/2024 06:23

I can possibly push out another 20cm to get 2.3m but won’t know until all the walls are insulated

I was coming to suggest this layout as this is ours.

What I would say is be wary of the size of the sink unit so your knees fit when sitting on the toilet.

This is the layout of the ensuite when we bought our house and it all looked and cramped to begin with it is perfectly fine.
