CALA Homes - colour scheme

Hello everyone, my partner and I are looking at purchasing a property with CALA homes. This would be our first time owning a property (we have been renting for the best part of a decade), and the whole process feels a little rushed. I find it strange that despite being built, they cannot provide pictures of the property that we are thinking of reserving (I understand that it may not be fully safe yet, to visit but thought they would be able to give photos). As this would be our first time buying, I am quite nervous and so whilst perhaps this is normal, I think I would feel a lot calmer if I saw photos of the actual property.

There are two properties which are exactly the same which we are also being asked to choose from. They are exactly the same, except in the kitchen one has the same colours as in a show home we saw (not the same model as what we are interested in purchasing), and another has a different colour scheme - it is called "Paris Nouvelle Scheme 6". I wondered if anyone has purchased with CALA before and knows what this actually means (or even better has some photos of it)? As it doesn't mean much to me 😂

That would sound alarm bells for me, if they can’t provide you with samples of colours of kitchen cupboards and photos of the property. I’d want to see photos of the rooms and a floor plan at the very least.

I've never bought a new build, but I have visited show homes and sales suites. They can usually show you samples of the kitchen and bathroom finishes - tiles, flooring, cupboard fronts etc.

I thought that these days they would be able to provide a photo mock-up of what each style of house would look like - even if not actually built yet - and discuss options for elements you are able to choose.

Have they built the house you're thinking about at another location?

Also, you mention choosing between two houses which are the same, apart from the kitchens. Remember, the location of the house within the site is also significant - think about which direction it faces, whether it's on the main access road so lots of passing traffic, or in a quieter location so fewer vehicles driving past, etc.
