Has anyone got a Howden's Kitchen

and if so are they good quality/do they last? I need a new kitchen but totally confused by all the suppliers out there. I love the upmarket ones like John Lewis of Hungerford, Smallbone etc but can Howden's do a decent kitchen at a better price? I can only find reviews relating to how good they are on getting the kitchen and installing it, not from anyone who has had the kitchen for a while.

I'm going against the grain here, but I'm a bit meh about my Howdens kitchen. I preferred the one we had from Wickes.
I feel like we're constantly reattaching the soft close mechanism as they are really easy to knock off and the Lamona oven we bought didn't quite see two years because the heating element went. Not to mention that their weird discount scheme for 'trusted' builders successfully enabled our original builder to defraud us. No we didn't get our money back. Yes I'm still angry about it.

Lamona equipment isn't the best, so choose your own appliances.

Your builder did not defraud you, he chose not to pass on the trade discount, so you paid retail price.

We had Howdens in the utility room, was such good quality.

When we moved inherited a Howdens kitchen. Eight years on its as good as new visually. We've had to adjust doors when grandchildren knock them out of whack.

Howdens are fine. Lamona appliances are garbage

we went with benchmarx as they were £2k cheaper for my first kitchen and diy kitchens as it was almost half the price (£7k cheaper than howdens) on our second…
but I put howdens into a couple of rentals and they are fine/good…

You should get multiple quotes and negotiate for the best price.

Howdens kitchen quality was ok (not great though and we had one of their more expensive ranges), service was desperate. Wrong items delivered, items missing, tried to charge us for things we didn't have. Never again.

2 great experiences over 20 years here. Very well made products, choose your kitchen fitter carefully.

We've had ours for 8 years now and it is still looking fantastic and we are really really pleased with it. The only downside is needing to get bits through a tradesman as we do have one backboard on our peninsula which our cat has destroyed and we need to replace but it's going to be difficult to get that part I think.

Just had my 2nd Howden’s kitchen. Very happy with the quality.

We've got a Howdens kitchen. We know it pre-dates 2010. All original Lamara appliances. Very solid. Just starting to look a bit tired in terms of marks and one door has dropped slightly, and hinges to that door are a bit rusty - it's under our sink though and there's evidence of a previous leak.

Has one in our old house and looked good as new after 7 years.

Agree with others. Find a good fitter and avoid the Lamara applicances.

Ours is eight years old, and the only sign of wear and tear is the laminate worktop, which we bought super cheap with a view to upgrading it at some point when we felt more equipped to make yet another decision.

I could have sworn that we had to get an entirely different builder because the first builder that we had paid to install the kitchen fucked off with our money without even ordering placing an order for the kitchen.

Yes. I used to flip properties and always used Howdens (I've also had two John Lewis of Hungerford kitchens but that a different price league as they are sold wood).
My current kitchen in my own home is Howdens. It's great. What really good about them is they are always in stock, if a big is missing you just go to the depot and they take back unused parts. I got my worktop elsewhere though and their designers leave a lot to be desired.

I don’t but friends moved into a house with a 5 year old one, lived there for 10 years and it was still going strong when they moved out.

Love the cabinets and handles! We had our own cooker and built in fridge though. Highly recommend.
