Karndean/Laminate - discolouration concerns

We're looking at replacing our living room floor - currently trying to decide between a Quick Step laminate and Karndean (Van Gogh range) - both in an mid brown oak wood finish.

Karndean feels slightly warmer, sounds like it would be easier to replace the odd tile if damaged, and like it is more scratch resistant.

However DP has read reports of Karndean discolouring in sunlight and is concerned as we have a reasonably large south facing window in that room. We accept that all products may fade over time but he's particular concerned where people have reported it going green. But it's not always clear whether they're talking UK sunlight, which Karndean range and whether it's wood effect or paler finishes that they're talking about.

So can anyone share their experience - good or bad of Karndean in sunlight to help us make a decision? (Or any experience of the Quick Step laminate for that matter)

I’ve had Karndean in two houses and none of it has gone green. Mine is a mid brown Van Gogh in a herringbone pattern and it’s lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to have it again

We have Van Gough Karndean in darkish brown. It’s been down 14 years and while it’s scratched in places because we never bothered with the protection layer, we’ve had no issues with discolouration and it still looks great. We replaced an expensive laminate with the karndean originally and much prefer it still.

Have had quickstep in three houses and really happy with it. Looks natural and v hard wearing. Get the skirting boards removed and replaced so it’s flush to the wall with no beading.

We have used laminate and the big disadvantage is it being impossible to repair if damaged without taking it all up. Whereas Karndean you can. Friends have used Karndean and seem positive about it so in future I would use that

Thanks all. Not sure sample size is enough to allay DP's fears but very helpful input!
