Do you have them? Do they work? Do they affect the integrity of the stairs?

I feel a couple of these could make a big difference to our (teeny weeeny) hall/lobby
inoften see the mooted as solutions, but on Pinterest & similar which isn’t very reliable in terms of the real world.

I wondered if anyone had any experience of them.

Yes, we got ours put in by a very skilled joiner and they are great. We have a full length cupboard at one end for coats and bags then 3 pull out parts with shelving for shoes and boots.

This type of things, although our stairs aren’t as nice as that!

I like the idea of a hall with ‘ends’! It’s about 1.5 m sq
we really need to get the radiator relocated which would enable us to have a very slim cupboard for coats. But it turns out that is very expensive to do!

Shoes is a problem as is the other ‘hall stuff’ like shin pads and things. I thought the drawers might be good for that

Was it expensive? I know of a couple of joinery complained round about.

Ours was about 2k so yes, very expensive. But it was hand made from start to finish.

You wouldn't he able to carpet the stairs though.

2 k! Wow! But skill is expensive. I might at least see about some quotes.

Generally I would say you are far better off going in from the side and putting a cupboard underneath. You will get far more space that way.

It's normally a fairly easy and common DIY job to do yourself and you can have custom doors made on the net.

Wish I could but there’s a solid wall on both sides unfortunately. There is an under stair cupboard from the underneath at the back if that makes sense, but it’s not aalll that useful especially at the lower step levels.
