Howden’s or second hand Bougie?

What have people paid recently? I’ve had my head turned by a second hand amazing one from here
There’s one which is pretty much what I’d choose look wise from Howden’s, with the benefit of appliances and I guess much higher quality finish.

A bump for any advice- what sort of price did your recent Howden's kitchen come in at?

Those kitchens are a lot of money for ex display
I’ve only
got half my kitchen so far and spent just under £2k on the top of the range symphony units. I also got the sink and work tops in for that price. I have not gone for an expensive sink or taps and the worktop is composite wood look as it lasts really well and I’ve had real wool in the past.
The discounts can be anything upto 50% off list price. I’ve usually got 20-25% off but it’s on account and I’ve bought a lot of building materials over the last 10years. I don’t shop at howdens because they won’t give me an account.

@Autumn1990 where from please

43ontherocksporfavor · 09/03/2024 17:57

Spend on worktops and handles. The rest can be cheaper.

i go to the builders merchants. You’ll get a better deal if you open account
I haggle if necessary.
I always get a joiner to fit the kitchen. A very cheap kitchen can look very good if it’s very well fitted.
Gower rapide are good quality low priced kitchens. I’ve had a few symphony kitchens and hopefully won’t be moving for awhile so have chosen symphony again.
costs can be kept down by reducing the number of end panels needed, not have lots of fancy drawer units etc.

Thanks all. I’m not going to be onsite. I’ve had 2x lovely and cheap Ikea kitchens in the past, but I was onsite to nip back for random bits and hand hold the fitters who hate them. This time I’ll be leaving it to a local fitter and builder. The particular kitchen is this one, I’ve fallen in love with it. It’s near the house- which currently doesn’t have a kitchen.

Are you sure that's not just your kitchen that you are trying to sell?

reservoirdawg · 12/03/2024 13:33

No it’s not.

Bump- has anyone had a Howden’s kitchen recently and happy to share the cost, and anyone with experience of buying a second hand kitchen?

It is now!
We are currently ‘camping’ with a mini oven/ hob. The kitchen is being dismantled tomorrow and our kitchen is drying out.
The builder doing the new ceiling and plastering has seen the link and reckons we’ll be able to use about half. Sadly don’t think he’ll be able to reuse the granite worktops but I’ll find out why. I reckon with building costs and supplies it’ll come in at under £10,000.
