Roofing repair: have I been ripped off?

I'm a bit ashamed to say this out loud (OK, so type it), but I'm being charged £1,300 for one tile to be replaced on my roof that took all of 22 minutes to do (plus 45 mins to errect scaffold). I'v seen these horrible things happen to old folk, but I'm not sure what to do. Yes, I know trades people are paid for what they know, not necessarily the time it takes to complete a job, but £1,300? I've paid half (upfront) but not sure what to do. feeling a bit anxious!

Its a rip off but TBH sounds like there isnt anything illegal about (unless they didnt do the work contracted for).
It was their decision on wether or not to use scaffolding and that would of been the big cost.

I paid £320 last month to have 6 tiles at the base of chimney replaced , plus lead flashing popped over a cracked old lead part . They also replaced two cracked tiles they found while up there . It’s a work in progress as there is still a small leak . They have been back once to do some more work and weather permitting will come tomorrow to look again . No extra charges for the extra visits as they haven’t completely fixed the issue yet . All work done on ladders as less than an hour each time .

It's the scaffolding that swallowed your money

No it's not, hiring a scaffold tower is about £100 a day

How did you find these roofers? Did you get them through a personal recommendation, trade website or similar? Or was it a flyer through the door, or a knock on the door saying "we're doing some work for your neighbours, we see you have some broken tiles, shall we fix them for you?". If it is either of the last two then yes, you have very definitely been ripped off by some very dodgy people, and they may get threatening, so don't hesitate to call the police and trading standards.

UPDATE: Given I hadn't paid up in full, a robust conversation with said roofer (in which he mansplained/swore and muttered under his breath) saw us agree to lop £400 off. Still far from ideal, but I suspect it was all I was going to get.

Life lesson: Get more quotes, even tho a lot of trades just won't bother calling back.

Thanks all for your helpful words.
