Can anyone tell me if in bad weather like high wind and rain you get noise coming in through the ac unit.
We live on the top of a hill and get a lot of noise with weather so don't really want to do anything to make it worse but we are having an extension started next month and I am toying with having ac fit in the new master

I haven't found that.

Do you get any noise coming through things like bathroom extractor fans?

mrssunshinexxx · 22/02/2024 06:57

@NonmagicMike no not that I notice tbh it's our bedroom window as it's not fully sealed actually have a window fitter coming round this morn to measure up for a new one as it's going to be my little girls room soon

We have an air con unit in our bedroom and don’t get any outside noise coming from it at all.

There’s your answer.

It probably depends on the type of AC unit you have. Most 'proper' installations have separate external and internal units. There is no air flow between the two - it's not like an extractor fan or anything. The only connections between the two are electrical cables and a small pipe carrying the refrigerant. So, there's no way for noise to be brought in, really.
