Turning Credit Rating Around

Hi everyone.

I've never managed to really get a specific answer on this when using search engines so looking for some honest advice.

When I was in my late teens/early twenties I racked up an enormous amount of debt which I slowly paid off. I then unfortunately fell in to that scenario again and I'm in the last year of paying it off now by a debt management plan.

Currently I do have some credit but all being managed well with no missed payments however I have a feeling my debt management plan keeps my credit score as low as it is. It seems to fluctuate from as high as mid 400's down to low 200's (on Experian). I check this religiously to make sure I'm not missing anything on my report that could affect me.

ANYWAY.. I'm now seeing a bit of light at the end of the tunnel with regards to getting my debts paid and settled however I'm curious to see if anyone has had similar scoring and if/how long it took them to get there score way up to good/excellent? I'd love to be able to purchase a home with my partner as we currently rent in an area we don't love and want to make roots with our DS1 & Baby no. 2 (due in May).

We don't earn a vast amount between us - I'm on £32k and my partner is on £23k however we are able to save quite a bit every month. Circa £600-£800.

Sorry rambling a bit.. so yeah, is buying a home ever gonna be a possibility for us?
