Wickes bathroom prices??

We went into Wickes earlier and asked for the prices of one of their ranges ... he told us it's all online except it clearly isn't. There are sizes available in the book not even mentioned online. Is this all a ruse to make us make an apt to get the prices? It's not a brand new range but they def still sell it.

Likely. We spoke to Wickes a few years ago about kitchens and they refused pruces withiut an apponyment. TBH we found the appointment very pushy.

We knew we were going to move within a few years, so didn't have a massive budget and the woman was very unhelpful, rather than trying to help us find solutions. She also ridiculed our (relatively small, but not unusual) kitchen size.

Could just be that branch, though, so take that as the anecdote it is. I'm.sure others have different experiences!

I strongly suggest you go to a local firm with 5* reviews. My daughter had an appointment for Wickes to call, they never turned up. Everyone I know who has used either of the large nationwide DIY stores for a kitchen or bathroom has been really disappointed. My daughter ended up using a local firm and the first review on their site was from someone who had experienced a nightmare with Wickes and went to this local firm and was now really happy with the results. My daughter was very happy with her bathroom too. Ask around friends, neighbours and work colleagues. If they cant be bothered when you are initially looking you stand no chance with problems later on

We are finding all the local firms have lovely furniture and are helpful but SO expensive: it's a small en-suite, I'm struggling to get my head around the prices as it is, bathrooms are one thing we've not done yet in this house and we've been here 20 years. I wonder if our builder went in as trade he'd get the answers .... 🤔

We had our bathroom completely refurbished and the builder supplied and ordered everything from his suppliers- his quote included everything. We have a small bathroom, the old suite was removed together with the old floor and wall ceramic tiles. The new bathroom was completely retiled floor to ceiling, LVT on the floor. We have a walk in shower with screen, large mirrored wall cabinet, basin with cabinet below. A heated towel rail, new light, fan and obviously a toilet. He boxed in all the pipe work (toilet, shower and basin) so it looks neat. We paid around £5500 from memory. Very happy with the result. My daughter's bathroom is large and she paid around £8000, she had a shower over her bath and ceramic tiles on the floor and walls. Nice cabinets too

Just to mention neither of us used someone with a showroom (guess that would add to the cost) in both cases the trademan came to the house to measure and discuss requirements. then directed us either to an online site to make our selection (samples of tiles provided in the post) or to a tile showroom to choose tiles which he then collected and paid for at trade price.

I bought a kitchen from Wickes 10 years ago. Very helpful person in store who did computer aided design. Not pushy at all. It was expensive at the time. It's still in excellent condition. It's probably very much some stores have more helpful staff than others. The salesman who did our kitchen is still in our local store. I see him when I pop in to get any DIY bits.
