Can't tell from your measurements as some/lot of it depends on the person/s trying to get it through.

Many years ago, we bought a rental as we did it up, we decided to sell our home chain free and stay there funtil we got out main home - the removals guys gave up trying to get three, 4 seater sofas through the livingroom door as it was an an angle - they left the sofas on the drive thanfully it was dry - my OH and family though about it when thay had had a chance to think/have a quick chips, they got the sofas through by romving the door, it took 5 mins to remove and refit door

it won’t fit

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 17/02/2024 15:43

No I don’t think that’s going through. Do you have another door? We have a narrow front door but a standard width back door. With a lot of shoving and several bruises we had a similar chair go that way. Not recommended. We shall be destroying the chair to remove it.

Does it have legs 0n, and if so they will be removable. Also, if you take the door off you will have a couple of inches extra wiggle room. Post a pic of the chair.

No that’s my only door as I live in a flat

Firstnews24 · 17/02/2024 15:51

both door dimensions needs to be bigger than 2 of the 3 chair dimensions

it isn’t

cancel the order

That’s not a love chair! That’s a recliner. Now that may fit as they come apart in several pieces- the seat, the back and the foot rest part. It’s not an easy job as they sort of click together and are quite heavy. But it’s certainly possible - ours had to come sort to get it in. Ask the supplier or delivery people or get a handy person on the job. Don’t risk your back.

Mamette · 17/02/2024 15:56

I think it will fit, it needs to go in on its side and then pivot (sorry couldn’t resist),

So put the back through the doorway first then shift the angle to get the seat part through.

hamletomelette · 17/02/2024 15:56

in.
Any way to check the measurement from the back corner of the base to the back corner of the arm?
You'll need more room than that, but I reckon if you can get the fatter base in sideways first then you'll have wiggle room to get the rest round the corner.
Good luck

Edited

sorry should have said a recliner too. The recliner I got now came in two halves if it comes in bits then it should be ok. I’m really stressed at the min as I’m having back surgery next month and don’t want to worry about a chair not fitting through the door.

Lie the armchair/sofa on its side, that way you can “pivot” (!) it around the doorway.
I’ve done that with a dining table that was too wide for the door and I was too lazy to take the legs off. One woman job.
Maybe use a tablecloth to protect it from scratches and give yourself something to pull on.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 17/02/2024 16:00

It might not arrive in bits- you WILL need to check. Not something I would recommend doing due to your back issues. Hence saying contact the supplier and delivery people as you will likely to need help. We had to dismantle ours ourselves. If it comes in bits check they will assemble it for you or arrange assistance. The parts are quite heavy and cumbersome.
