Internal doors with obscured or clear glazing

Hi everyone

Need to choose 2 x internal doors. One from the hallway into our new kitchen extension and one into a utility room without a window.
Looked at B & Q and you can either get clear or frosted but not obscured. Isn’t frosted very old fashioned these days?
Currently have obscured which I like as hides the mess.
Would welcome any ideas/thoughts.

Get the clear glass and then use window film, reeded/fluted or obscured in different patterns. Have a google and see if anything takes your fancy. It is easy to instal as well, lots of videos on YouTube of people installing it.

Thank you so much. Think will get the clear and if don’t like it then I can use the window film. Have you successfully managed it?

I have used it - see picture. Very pleased with it - it has a pattern even on the clear bits that make it look like real stained glass. Very cheap so easy to change. I got mine from Peels - very helpful as well!

@LindaDawn yes, I have used frosted film in the two panels of my front door because you could see in, in the bathroom and ensuite to the obscured glass as otherwise you can be seen naked just wibbly plus 2 half glazed doors ie one into my garage. I used it in both the last house and this in several applications. Purlfrost is a good quality film with guidelines for cutting on the backing paper.

Many thanks again. Really useful to know I have an option if going for the clear. Will show to hubby. Coming to the end of an extension. Just fatigued by all this decision making.

@LindaDawn I understand that, we did a kitchen extension and had to choose sockets, lights, flooring, paint colours and of course, doors both internal and external. Exhausting mentally. In fact I chose a full height glass door into the utility and then put frosted window film on it to hide the laundry inside. I left some small strips clear so I can peep in and see how long my washing machine has left on it. I am considering changing it to reeded glass film after I rejig the utility, it was originally done 11 years ago so I feel justified in changing it.
