Help me choose bathroom tiles please :(

I'm on the verge of giving up so this is a last ditch attempt to get the bloody bathroom finished. We're having everything done by b&Q. Can anyone tell me which wall tiles will look best with this colour unit please?

Do these two complement one another?

I like the combination from your second post the best.

Do these two complement one another?

In my opinion, from the pictures, no.

dottypencilcase · 06/02/2024 01:09

Or shall I stick to grey (which I don't want but in my head these are the only two that will look good together)?

The unit is a deep green

Thanks @Aqua. I agree they don't go together but I need two lots of tiles- one for the floor (the grey marble tile) and one for the shower enclosure and it's that that I'm struggling to find.

I don't want the bathroom to feel cold which is why I'm searching for a beige tile or maybe I should just go grey and green (which I'm scared will look really depressing)

I think you need a greige tile - a mix of grey and beige.

dottypencilcase · 06/02/2024 01:17

My eyes have become tile blind. I can't find any :(

Do these two complement one another?

No. I like the wall one but not the floor one (fake wood). Neither of the floor ones are good. Do you want them from B & Q?

dottypencilcase · 06/02/2024 01:27

These are what I'm thinking for the floor- either the brown or the grey marble one

The colour of unit is very misleading, it looks graphite, grey.

Fraaahnces · 06/02/2024 01:33

I love the green @dottypencilcase. It’s similar to greens I have pinned for my next home. I think grey is beginning to date atm, and might make your bathroom look and feel cold and heavy. Controversial view is to ask whether you have considered basic black & white? It’s both classic vintage and modern. You could do black and white on the floor and white on the splash. Unobtrusive and lets the green speak for itself. If you wanted more of a feature you could add in some amazing mural wallpaper, some plants or wooden/brass features. Even a fantastic shower curtain.

Fraaahnces · 06/02/2024 01:41

Here are a couple of photos demonstrating what I mean (kinda)… the grey marble sink on the green is still a bit cold against the green (imo) and plain white or cream would have been cleaner-feeling. The to it’s photo illustrates why I feel the grey would be a bit stark.

This one is wall and floor. You could do both wall and floor the same.

Or, you could use the pretend wood on the floor (but I prefer the larger 'planks' look) and then something which isn't stone effect in the shower like a metro tile, or any smaller wall tile to your taste.

Peachyscream · 06/02/2024 01:55

@Fraaahnces that is absolutely gorgeous

i I don’t like the stripes, I have the same in grey and it’s modern in a chav way hated it there n then. Been 7 years… 😂
the grey smoky one, is that available in beige?

Fraaahnces · 06/02/2024 02:10

I just had this pop up in my YT feed. The first bathroom he looks at is kind of what I’m feeling.

I'd go black and white, or just white tiles with a dark wood floor. The beige will look dirgy and the grey depressing

dottypencilcase · 06/02/2024 08:41

What about this? I definitely want something with a beige undertone to make the room feel warmer.

I love the classic monochrome look but with a busy household, wanted something with a slight pattern on the floor so I wasn't spending all my spare time cleaning it.

I do agree with the cleaning! But you do then need to use the same tile on the wall or something much smaller and very different in colour, texture etc.

Would a slate coloured tile not be ok with cleaning and then you can get the warmth from the wall tile.

LindaDawn · 06/02/2024 12:28

I think it’s hard to tell without seeing the real tile. Be careful with grey tiles though we had an en-suite with grey wall tiles and it was just so cold looking even though it had lots of natural light and was west facing.

PrincessOfPreschool · 06/02/2024 12:44

Personally I'd go mustard but that's my fav colour at the moment!

minipie · 06/02/2024 13:30

If you are trying to find two different tiles that go together you absolutely MUST get real life samples and put them together in good light. That’s the only way you will get the true colours and see if they go. Internet pics are very much not reliable and nor is a quick look in a showroom (ask me how I know 😩).

I agree with pp to steer towards beige rather than grey. Bathrooms can so easily look cold, plus the beige will bring out the green of the unit.
