How long until you started getting viewings?

I know Im being very impatient 😂but our house went on the market on Friday. 3 bed end of terrace in a sought after area. I was expecting to maybe get a call on Friday afternoon or Saturday from the EA to book in some viewings but havent heard a peep. I know its VERY early days, but on the opening weekend I thought we may get at least one request to view! Its suddenly got me a bit worried.

I know its a slow time of year & interest rates are higher, but what is everyone else’s experiences of getting viewings in the current climate?

@gorillalala hows it going a few days on?

Only had two viewings in the first week. First on Tuesday, their feedback was that they didnt like that it was next to a trading estate (fair enough, although obviously cant change that). Second viewing was this afternoon. Not had feedback yet but can’t imagine she will make an offer as I get the impression shes been on their books for a while viewing loads of houses but we will see.

No more viewings booked in or any other interest. Feeling a bit deflated about it all already! We’ve seen a new build we like whilst looking to see what we could get for our money but thats looking increasingly out of reach now. Quite disappointed!

Don't give up. It's going to be tough, and you may have to change your expectations, but you'll get there. In the meantime, save up as much as you can for your own deposit to move on! I'm a buyer myself and it's hard for us all, but I have way more sympathy for those looking to move for a larger family home (and less sympathy for older properties that retiring vendors have done anything with! Just being honest here). I hope you find a buyer who will love it and you get to move into your new home. Best of luck. keep us updated!

I feel like EA really vet potential buyers before showing them too.
Like they want to know everything is set in place before even showing someone a property. Im a casual buyer, not looking to move desperately but if the right property came up I'd like to look at it. So therefore I don't have a mortgage in principle set up yet, some estate agents refuse to show on that basis alone. I understand sometimes there are time wasters who look at houses for a hobby with no intention of buying but sometimes it's worth the risk I think.

Our house has been on for nearly 4 weeks now and we've had 3 viewings.

It's very slow. Think we will keep it on until June/July and then take it off the market and wait 12 months.

Thanks Rookie23, I reduced mine today by 5k so now on for just under 240.

I'm downsizing to a two bed ( mine is 3 with an extra study/bedroom) but the two beds in the village are the same price as mine. The EA said today that the young first time buyers all want parking and I'm scrabble to find a place to park after 5pm parking.
I'm an hour south east of Birmingham so not far from where you're keeping an eye.
I have had an offer back in November but she can't sell. Ahhhh.

In this market I'd have priced it to sell and people through the door. It always looks bad (imo) when people have to reduce the price.
