Really need some advice re kitchen layout. About to knock down wall to make kitchen/family room and been to a few kitchen shops but getting conflicting advice. Would you go for design 1, 2, 3 or 4? Thanks

If you have a separate lounge, I'd have less space for sofa and more for a big dining table and good storage

Yes! All the kitchen options in the OP look a bit miserly and shunted up one end; I’d opt for more counter space, more storage, better flow, bigger dining table with room around it, and stick a small sofa in the bay window for a comfy place to sit.

I really like Phyllis Grant’s long, narrow kitchen where she’s done a classic L-shape kitchen with a really long, thin prep island rammed with storage. It’s a proper working kitchen, then at the other end where the room opens out, the dining table – OP’s equivalent would be the bay window, where I might be tempted to put the dining table and sack off sofas and such altogether in favour of proper kitchenage.

Hi @Susieblue18 just wondering which option you ended up going for? We have a similar layout decision to make and I was curious what you decided and how you feel about it now it's in.
