Single discoloured tile

We have a single tile just above the bath (there is a shower above)that has become discoloured and is obviously wet.
A plumber came and claimed he'd never seen this before (Confused)and that we had two options. The first was to replace the sealant around the bath and hope the tile eventually dries.
The second was to rip out some tiles (they are quite big ones) replace the gyproc behind and retile. This would look really odd due to the current tile pattern and the price quoted was £470. We opted for option one though with some scepticism that the tile would dry out( how would the moisture get out?).
While I was out the plumber came and replaced the sealant only around the half of the bath that the tile is on. For £90 I expected the whole lot to be resealed. Also there was a bit of discoloured sealant that was behind central taps that he didn't replace. Dh seemed to think this was ok.
Am I being unreasonable in thinking it can't possibly that uncommon for one tile to be wet and also that he should have replaced all of the sealant?

Don't be too hard on yourself, I'm in a bit of the same rutt right now tbh, I'm just telling myself it's a phase that'll pass when spring perks us all up! Wish you all the best and good luck with the bathroom

I just realised that resealing has fixed this issue for us. I went and double checked just there 😅 We got the resealing done for a different reason last summer and I hadn't actually realised until now that the tile that used to be discolored (darker beige) is now the same color as the rest!

@dox8 that's encouraging thank you!

Can you hide it with a new set of tile transfers or paint?

Also I wondered if it was surprising to see just one discoloured tile. It must be! Makes me wonder now if something else is the cause!

Perhaps it's due to a fault in the tile itself rather than the seal around it? I've seen some tiles where a micro-crack in the glaze, initially practically invisible to the eye, created a noticeable 'vein' as moisture seeped through.
