Sudden panic about neighbours

In a chain, due to complete soon. House we're buying is a relocation, so we're not able to visit the property/area easily.

For some reason, today I decided to look at the house on Google Earth. In the next door neighbours garden (terrace), it appears that there is lots of piles of rubbish. Hard to say for sure due to the resolution, but I would say thats the case.

Our sellers have only lived in the house for 2/3 years- they had a baby shortly after moving there and have another on the way which is the reason they gave for moving. Seemed plausible at the time! Now I'm worried it's due to neighbours.

I downloaded the neighbour's docs off the land registry, and they bought the house the same year that our sellers did. They paid about half for the house as the one I'm buying sold for then/is now worth- so one would assume it's in worse condition by some margin.

I'm not really sure what to do now?? What can I do? Any advice wise mumsnetters??

When was the google earth image taken?

There is another thread running where loads of people have said that the unfinished building works opposite the house would be an immediate deal breaker - fair enough - but the images are from a few years ago and the works are long since completed (confirmed by the owner of the house and several others who know the area).

Mid 2022 by the looks of it.

I can't recall noticing anything when I looked out of the bedroom window at the back of the property, but I also can't specifically remember doing that or what I saw!

It's so hard when you see a house for half an hour and then likely don't see it again for months, isn't it!

Assuming you haven't exchanged contracts yet, I would ask for a viewing just before Exchange (so you can check out next doors garden too from an upstairs window). Solicitors often recommend a viewing before Exchange anyway.

If they bought the house the same year, isn't it more likely they were renovating? The house being sold for half makes that even more likely.
If you're that paranoid, hire a drone and go take a look at their garden how, or just stick your head over the fence
