Has anyone here painted their fridge?

I have a wonderful full height freestanding fridge. I love it, it functions beautifully, has tonnes of space and it just great (also only 4 years old and was £££)

The only problem is it's white, and it's not a thing of beauty. I've been looking up painting fridges and I feel tempted. Has anyone done it? Was it easy? How did it turn out? How has it stood up to everyday use?

😃

@TheChippendenSpook sadly - looking at the fridge more I realise that I can't either paint or vinyl wrap it yet because it needs to move location later in the year, and I'll have to swap the way the door opens, so whatever I do I will have to wait for that. Sigh.

In our old house we accidentally made a massive scratch across our fridge/freezer with a washing machine. It haunted me so much - every time I saw it I was reminded of our inadequacy. We defrosted the freezer in the garden, masked the handles and trim, then spray painted it turquoise. Lots of thin coats with 3-4 hours drying time between each one. Only sanded where the massive scratch was. Took 3-4 days I think, but I was v happy with the result.

I painted mine 5 years ago and it still looks good. It was stainless steel so I had to use a special primer first (epoxy?) but then I used Dulux satin in mineral mist blue. It was very quick because it’s just rectangles shapes. If I was painting a plastic fridge I’d do a coat of white chalk paint then satin paint on top, it’s very easy to wipe clean. Good luck if you go for it!

I've NC'd for this as its pretty outing to anyone who knows me, but this is mine. Also did the dishwasher to match!

I vinyl wrapped my fridge freezer with the sticky back stuff you get at B&Q. Online you'll get a range of colours. I had to do a side and the front. Around the top was the worst faff but it's certainly doable.

I have a fridge in a very humid conservatory and over the years it's gone a bit rusty - so I recently painted it with smooth Hammerite using sponges (so I didn't need to clean any brushes) and it looks surprisingly good! and no longer rusty I am now wishing I'd got an interesting colour rather than white!

Yes! Years ago.
Took it out in the garden and sprayed it with car paint.

Ooo no but am considering painting my towel rail, pvc window frame & bathroom cabinet...

Oh no! I sort of feel like I should do mine but I'm still too scared!
