I've been thinking about this recently because whenever I mention this to friends they tell me I've got it good and I guess I have in some ways but I can't help but feel irritated by my neighbours, quite a lot of the time.
They're retired, mid-70s, very friendly and nice people, BUT a lot of stuff they do pretty inconsiderate. For instance banging bins really loudly, radio on in the garden loudly, talking to each other loudly down the side of the house when our kids are asleep next to them (we have a bungalow), extremely bright security lights that shine into houses opposite's living rooms of which the people in those houses have mentioned it to neighbours but they've chosen to ignore and kept the lights up.
It just baffles me how such nice people can be so inconsiderate at times in terms of noise level. I feel unable to say anything because they're obviously a bit deaf, but is this a generational thing? Are people of that age more comfortable with hearing their neighbours?
