Any recommendations please for a universal wall mount bracket for a 65inch TV in a plasterboard wall?

Mounting 65" TVs to plasterboard walls is not the easiest of jobs.

I would be surprised if you can get anyone to do it unless they use the most basic of brackets (no swing tilt etc) and they will probably want you to indemnify them because 65" TVs are heavy and plasterboard walls are not very strong.

I tried to get a commericail company (well known but not mentioning any names) to mount a 43" TV on a plasterboard wall and my god it was like you'd asked the guy to build you a space shuttle. Landing man on the moon was probably easier if you'd asked him.

It can be done if you can find the stud and cross beams to fix into if it's stud wall.... if its an exterior wall, or adjoining wall, you can probably fix into the wall through the plasterboard.

Also depends on the TV, there's a world of difference between an LG OLEG G - series for 4 Grand that's designed specifically for wall mounting hence super light and thin, to a bog standard heavy hulk of a set.

Generally Id go for a flat mount , maybe with a small amount of up/down tilt if needed and one that has a lot of options widthways of placing the fixing screws you you can hit a stud to fix into. Failing that, getting the correct fittings to fix into the cavity i.e. Gripit Clams, spring-toggles, or drywall anchors depending on the cavity...

Thank you. We're getting John Lewis to do it but need to buy the bracket.

fixthebone is right you can get special fittings and of course you can fit onto the studs although according to my "installer" they are very difficult to find (I found mine in about 2 minutes),

IME the more simple your bracket, the less likely you are to encounter teeth sucking and excuses, so not one that allows you to extend from the wall in anyway and puts extra force on the mounting. The mount interfaces to the TVs are pretty universal. You can find the VESA size of the mounting layout on the back of the tv or in the manual and check that it fits on the bracket. Of course you need to make sure the bracket is rated for the tv weight and size.
