Is your property showing as yours yet on land registry?

I completed a purchase on my house early last March and it is still showing as last sold to the previous owner. I understood that there are delays at the land registry, but when you go on their website it suggests that it should have been dealt with by now.

If you bought or sold around this time last year is yours now updated? Thanks

Family completed early this year and approx 3 months later appeared.

Bought in Oct, and it is showing.

It took nearly a year.
I had to get a solicitor to ask them to hurry up (because needed proof of ownership)

Took over a year for us. I'd chase it though

Thanks all

@Flubadubba sounds like the new registrations are coming before the backlog Confused

No idea! Maybe we just got lucky...

We are currently adding a property to the land registry for the first time (old property passed down over generations) - solicitors have advised a 12-18 month wait for the process to be complete.

I'm not sure. How do I check?

Hi
I'm a conveyancing solicitor. I always advise clients registrations can take up to 12 months (or even longer) as there is a such a severe backlog at the land registry.

It varies so much as I have had some registrations come back as quickly as a week recently and still some pending from 18 months ago. Is there a reason you need proof of ownership? The reason I ask is in some cases the registration can be expedited but proof needs to be provided for this to happen (I.e if you are selling your house).

Otherwise, a certified copy of the TR1 and a letter from the solicitor acting would generally suffice as proof of ownership.

Thanks for this. really helpful. No I’m not selling mine again. It’s just that their website says 7-9 months for almost all cases to be completed now and I’ve passed that.

I think it’s just a case of once the cases are in the backlog they stay there as it makes their statistics look better to work on earlier cases.

I sold a property in November 22. I had Land Registry notifications set up and was pinged in September 23. It has just appeared on the public sites in the most recent update. So 14 months.
