Bastarding flooring! Help!

I've been chiselling these tiles out to discover that the previous Muppets tiled onto laminate. And the mortar is totally stuck fast. It won't even smash when struck with a hammer. Suggestions? I've tried slipping a flat chisel beneath the laminate but that's been stuck fast, too!

Cutting the laminate up with a multi-tool might do the trick. Then it's brute force and ignorance. Is it a concrete floor underneath?

Parts of it seem to be hard surface of some sort. The floor is very uneven and I think they put down some thick felt or foam? Gah.

if you’re determined to get the laminate out I think @Laughingravy suggestion is the way.
how much flooring are you planning to put back because you may end up replacing the door at the far end as there’ll be too much gap between your new floor and the bottom of the door.

You may need to hire / buy a breaker drill. I brought one last year and there is nothing it won’t smash through. Give your neighbours warning though and invest in ear protectors too!

Get a shovel or spade under the laminate and that will give you enough leverage to prise it up . The Laminate won’t be fixed/ stuck down .

Thanks all.

My plumber recently used a chisel style attachment on the end of a drill. Seemed to work but was noisy

I'd try a multitool too, with one of the chisel ends. They have been incredibly useful for all sorts of similar jobs here. We've even used one to chisel off (very difficult) textured wallpaper.
[I'd recommend anyone doing a lot of DIY to get one, they have all sorts of tools you can fit as well as chisels.]

Ear defenders are necessary, though, as mentioned above, they are noisy.

Just beware- we chiselled up very thick and very well stuck quarry tiles only to discover asbestos tiles below....it got expensive.
