Internal window between dark hallway and lounge.

Has anyone fitted some sort of internal window to allow light into a dark hallway? I've seen crittal style metal screens and doors fitted but thinking of an affordable option! Pictures would be lovely as I have no ability to visualise 😀. Thanks.

How many floors is your house? I looked at putting in a glazed wall between my hall and dining room, but it would have needed fire rated glass which made it prohibitively expensive. The little kite marks on the glazing also look horrible - more of a consideration if lots of separate panels.

We have 3 floors, I hadn't considered fire rated glass. Something I'll look into!

Doors with glass in them. Possible light well or even mirror.

@IsayIsayBoy I've just ordered something like this, I will be sure to update when they are fitted! I literally cannot wait. Were having Internal steel doors (crittall style) with small panes to divide 2 spaces which didn't need dividing per se, but which will add so much in terms of architectural interest and atmosphere. I was watching Mr & Mrs Smith on Prime and in ep 5 they are in a cabin on Lake Como and the cabin has has this steel wall with small rectangular panels and as soon as I saw it, I though, that's it, so I took that picture to the company who's made our other steel doors (www.stenze.com) and they're going to re-create it! And because they are internal doors with single glass the glazing is going to be much less then the external doors, so they are even less than what I was expecting, no wonder my husband didn't kick up a fuss !
Also when you order your glass @MyAnacondaMight tell the glazier you want "furniture stamps" instead of regular glazing stamps. So like on glass top furniture/ballustrades/tabletops you don't see those "kites" because they use furniture stamps. Get it in writing also. Because we've had glass delivered with regular stamps and I was able to send it all back and get new glass because I was able to pull up the email that requested furniture stamps. I hope that makes sense!
