Curtains in the kitchen

I’ve always had blinds as I worry about curtains trapping the smell.

Was talking to a friend about this recently who has curtains in her kitchen and they look great- she thinks they work better as you can just wash them or dry clean whereas blinds can only be spot cleaned.

Has anyone got curtains? How do you find it?

I did have curtains in the kitchen for a while but the kitchen sink is in front of the window and I found it wasn't working well, so I swapped to a kitchen blind. I do like blinds but have curtains in the bedrooms and living room because as you say, they can be taken down and washed, unlike blinds.

I have curtains (came with the house) and they are lovely but really do trap smells, i can't put them in the wash, they are huge and heavy so will have to be dry cleaned at around £180, so for now i keep febreezing them. The fabric blinds also smell and seem to be trapping any oil particles in the air as look discoloured, same issue though, huge cost to dry clean. Will be replacing when we can which is a shame as they are nice.
I was hoping steaming the might break down odours but haven't dared try yet.
