Bath or large shower?

Interested in opinions/experiences. My bathroom needs redoing and I’m wondering whether I should swap the bath for a large walk-in shower. I can count on one hand the number of baths I’ve had in the past five years; I would always choose a shower. I don’t have kids and live alone.

Having a large shower instead of a bath would mean I could potentially add a separate small toilet, which would be useful for guests. My house isn’t likely to appeal to young families so I can’t see it having much impact on resale value.

I have t had a bath in my house for about four years. I have wanted a bath since I took it out.

In reality if the bath was still here I wouldn't be in it.

My in laws had a shower and no bath didn’t do anything to the house price and sold relatively quickly. Go for it!!

We removed the bath and replaced with a large shower in our previous house. It was a small 2 bed house in a very student/young professional area so really wasn't suited as a family home. We sold it within a week of being ok the market. Neither of the estate agents that valued the house mentioned the lack of bath as a disadvantage.

I would do what suits your life style

I don't bath so in your situation would install a lovely shower. Here we have 2 baths with showers over and a walk in shower ; the DC and DGD like baths
