Help please - tap won't turn off and I can't see an isolator valve

The basin tap won't turn off. It's a lever tap on a basin in a vanity unit that was only installed 6 months ago.

I assume isolator valves have been fitted but none are visible. See photo.

I can feel that the flexible pipes join rigid pipes behind the back wall of the unit but I can't see this becauseof the positionbehind the panel!.

Am I right in thinking these junctions should include isolator valves? And will I have to cut out the back of the vanity unit to get to them. Because at the moment I've had to turn off the water at the stop cock to stop the water gushing from this tap.

Before I take a saw to the unit, can anyone give me any advice or let me know if that's a stupid thing to do and just keep the water off till I can get a plumber tomorrow?
TIA

Id say the panel will come out without a saw, it must have been fitted after the sink was plumbed in. The valves ( if you have them ) look to be behind it.

Thanks @Diyextension
I gave the panel a good push to see if it shifted but no movement so I didn't like to use more force incase it was attached to side walls with pegs or anything.

Just for my own information, would you expect valves to have been fitted? I'm not happy that a tap has failed so quickly and before speaking to the company that installed it I want to know if I'm reasonable in my expectation that I should be able to isolate that basin.

Can you use a mirror and torch to see down behind the panel? I would expect there to be a valve on each of the flexible pipes.

I tried that but just can't see @Petrine . And certainly couldn't get a screwdriver down to do anything.

We've resigned ourselves to just keeping the water off and getting a plumber out tomorrow.

And thanks for confirming what I thought about the valves. I'll feedback what's happened to the fitting company.

So there 'should' be isolation valves behind the panel where the flexi hoses attach. If so, turning that so as the screwdriver line goes horizontally should isolate the tap. The back should come off without too much of a struggle. Failing that you'd need to install an isolation valve or a stop end - really simple to do if you have a pipe cutter and YouTube, but assuming you have no tools?

It is good practise to fit isolation valves, but it isn't unusual (sadly) to find them not fitted.

Have another look in the morning and see if you can get that panel off. You'll need to move it one way or another unless you can get to where the tap is connected to replace it.

That panel looks as though it might lift up to release it and then pull forward. And you’re right that there should be isolators between the flexi hoses and the solid pipe. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your advice!
