Fixtures and fittings form when selling your house

I'm a first time house seller. I've completed the property information form and I'm working on the fixtures and fittings form. Quick question, it would be helpful to see the F&F form for the house we are buying, as if they are leaving curtains and bathroom mirrors, I'm happy to leave mine, but if they are taking their, I will need to replace them. Can I ask my solicitor for a copy?

No idea, as these are new since I've last sold, but would it be worth asking the Estate Agent to ask them ?
Or even to ask if you can have another visit to do a bit of measuring / find out how the heating works / where the stopcock is / etc and ask them directly ?

Your solicitor is your solicitor- you’re paying them so can ask them questions & they should do their best to answer your questions.

They may not have received the form yet from the other party but if they have they can share the information with you. Though I would say these days it’s common to leave curtains behind as they never fit the new place anyway. A bathroom mirror I wouldn’t remove if it would leave behind unsightly holes in the wall.

Our solicitor provided a copy as soon as it was available - I think usually they'd just provide all paperwork in one batch at a later date, but as we asked she sent it over.

Your solicitor will send you a copy anyway usually, but only when the vendors have filled it out obviously. In my experience this can take a while.

Most people leave curtains as they probably won't fit a new house unless you know you have the same size windows.

As above, what are the chances of the curtains fitting the new house, or you being able to fill the holes left when removing stuff?

If in doubt, say it's going. Then if you discover you wont need it, offer to leave it as an extra.

I always take curtains, most bedroom windows are a very similar size. If i knew they definitely wouldn't fit i would leave. I always take mirrors, shelves etc. Take lampshades etc but leave bulbs etc in the light fittings

I would always take curtains, they were very expensive and the fabric can easily be remade into curtains of different sizes. The same would go for my mirrors. I would contact your sellers directly through the estate agent and ask what they are planning. If it all looks nice and you'd like to keep it, you could offer to buy it save you the hassle of replacing it, and ask your buyers if they would like to buy your curtains, mirrors etc.

I've asked my solicitor. They haven't received it yet but will send it to me as soon as they do.
