Matt lacquer or oil engineered wood in kitchen?

If you have engineered wood in your kitchen area did you go for lacquer or oil?

Would you recommend what you have?

I'm thinking either a Matt lacquer or a UV oil....

I don't have EW, but was considering it so I tested samples for stain resistance, and the matt lacquered finish performed better than the oil in situations where the stain wasn't cleaned up instantly.

Neither are as robust as laminate or LVT, however, in terms of stain and waterproofing, which is a key factor for me in a kitchen. Plus a good quality EW will cost a lot more. I'd recommend getting samples of Quickstep laminate to compare with EW, as some of the range is waterproof, and looks just like wood.

We have just installed a Brushed Oak Matt Lacquer, we got loads of samples and in the end it came down to the look we preferred as each company we spoke to recommended one or the other and there are pros and cons on each, we had the same in our last kitchen with no issues.
