It’s a terraced house with quite a large/high ceiling hallway and porch. not sure which of these would look better - or something else entirely? Thanks

The first one is gorgeous.

PickAChew · 14/12/2023 23:25

Both lovely. Depends on the size of each light and your hallway, of course.

MrsFloof · 14/12/2023 23:27

2nd one

2nd

Atishooooo · 14/12/2023 23:50

First one is a more unusual shape but I really like them both.

Dotcheck · 14/12/2023 23:51

Both are lovely but I prefer the first

Dotcheck · 14/12/2023 23:51

( unless they are small and would be dwarfed)

KievLoverTwo · 14/12/2023 23:51

Have they got any pics of the first one switched on? Cos those three round bulbs all pointing down may look really odd when turned on.

HardcoreLadyType · 14/12/2023 23:52

I like the round one.

Lifeinlists · 15/12/2023 00:00

The second one would be more authentic but the first one would cast more light because of the bulbs pointing down. In a hallway that's important.
They're both fine though. Have you physically seen them and seen them lit? If you've only seen them online you may not get the full picture.

Second will be a nightmare to dust.

I like the first one, it has a slightly steam punk look to it which is a play on victoriana anyway.

Interestingly, when I see the "Similar threads" at the bottom of your thread there is a similar thread which I've linked. There is a photo of the first lamp, or one very similar to it, in situ in a Victorian hallway.

Ceiling lights for Victorian property? | Mumsnet

Can anyone show me light fittings that aren't ornate chandeliers that wouldn't look out of place in a Victorian property with high ceilings?
