0 easy 10 hard.

It's a very basic sliding door! And gets jammed if you used it more than twice!
How hard would it be to get a new system and would we need new door panel. Thanks

Depends how straight your walls are

Thank you. I will try and describe. Standing in the kitchen n looking to the hall there is a door size hole with a sliver thing at rhe top. The door moves from right, behind the fridge... To slide into the hole.
There is nothing to on rhe floor just something up above. Is it very simple.

Presumably there are rollers in the "sliver thing"

If they're metal try small drop of oil.

If they're nylon a Pledge type furniture polish sprayed on may help.

But a photo of the "sliver thing" really would help.

I installed a new bifold door (three panels) into a new opening I’d made in a non load bearing wall earlier this year. Technically it’s maybe a 2, but you do need to make sure you get everything plumb and need some carpentry skills such as cutting a notch for the deadbolt - only get one go! Overall I’d give it a 6/10 in terms of DIY. If you’re just replacing like for like then maybe a 2 or 3. It’s definitely doable as a diy job - just take your time. Took me a weekend.
