Nice plastic windows- the impossible dream?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good window company? A lot of existing threads say "local firms are best" but without recommending specific ones- and also there are threads advising against local firms! And also against the big national firms! It's a minefield.

I'm based in London so London/SE recommendations appreciated especially. Wanting to replace windows on my 1930s terraced house. In a dream world would get crittal or aluminium but I don't think my budget would stretch to those. Need to replace two bays and one normal small window.

Thanks in advance!

I can recommend these guys: fabcosanctuary.com/

They're based in Sussex but cover London.

We used Everest. Nice narrow frames, rather than leaving a four inch square of glass in a smaller top window. Cheerful team did the fitting. Upstairs Friday and downstairs Monday, so I could clean upstairs over the weekend. Finance deal was excellent too. After-sales was fine and warranty was signed over, with a fee, to the people who bought our house. But it was the appearance of the windows that really sold the company to us, after a neighbour used them

Sidcup windows and doors have done good work for us. Nothing fancy but reliable and well finished.

We used Aztec Windows, but they're based in Coventry so probably no use!

BUT! IMO, the key to nice plastic windows is making sure they are 'flush casement'. That's what ours are and we're really happy with them. They look loads better than normal uPVC windows.

I can't recommend one local to you, but we got a patio door from a company local to us that is wood-look UVPC (our house has wooden, painted windows) and it looks very good.

Thank you so much for your responses!

@OldTinHat these look gorgeous. Steel though! Can I ask how expensive they were?

Thank you @muddyford and @newyeardelurker I will look those both up!

@Janek thank you for point about flush casement- the terminology is so specific and I really wasn't sure what I was looking for, so will add that to my search criteria!

@DuesToTheDirt thank you, that sounds nice, although as my house and all its neighbours have plastic windows I'm not too concerned about a wood look- just a more stylish and less 80s eye sore look! Thank you though :)

Any more window suggestions welcomed!
