Hi hall. Looking for a security camera that will be really good quality including night vision but would just sit on my bedroom window sill instead of having to be attached to front of house.

any suggestions urgently needed thank you

Have a look at Time2Technology

Don’t bother to set up a Ring indoor camera facing out through a window. Mine (front and back) do usually pick up the postman as “person detected” but often misses vehicles coming down the drive, though it records raindrops, ladybirds and the tree moving in the breeze as “motion detected”!

You might consider the Arlo Pro 3 or Arlo Ultra cameras. These cameras are wireless and weather-resistant, making them suitable for outdoor use. However, you can also place them indoors, such as on a window sill, to monitor the front of your house.

Dissapointed wth our Ring flood light camera, video capture time is too late and too short. It is mains poowered which is good, but in hindsight would prefer to have not fitted a WiFi camera

A camera is the best way to tell burglars to pay a visit to your home.

We have a Nest camera. It sits on the kitchen windowsill looking out the back of the house. It's perfect.
Bought on Amazon reasonably priced. We use the free subscription

Not true, so many houses have them now that we have to look for the homes without one. It's tedious work, I can tell.you.

I installed a door bell camera around a year ago. What I found is that its stopped all the dubious door knockers plying their line of - I can tarmac/block pave your drive for £X - seemingly they dont want to be caught on camera. Living in a village this was a right PIA so installing the camera for me is a big plus.

As people have mentioned a video doorbell may be worth considering for some people if not the OP

I recently bought a Reolink doorbell camera £85, which works really well and is subscription free.
The motion detection is easy to configure and works well with the app, even on 4G.

They have two models, one Wifi and one powered over ethernet. (PoE), maximum on board storage 256GB, or you can using add it to an 3rd part security system later as it ONVIF compatible. (i.e. it's an standard camera not proprietary)

Not remotely true. In our street, three houses were burgled over the space of a week. The only three on the street without cameras.

Just be aware that if you use an indoor camera through a window, you won’t get anything at night. The camera will kick in but all you’ll see is a reflection from the glass. You don’t get a great image in high sun either, unless you’re mindful of the angle against the glass. Professional burglars will know this, but chancers will always go to an easier target if they see a camera. Fakes wont fool a professional either.
If you have a tight budget, then TAPO indoor cameras are v good & cheap. Outside I’ve used the basic Arlo, which you CAN, use rechargeable camera batteries for (despite what they say & otherwise quickly gets v expensive).

Wired cameras are always better & if you can pay more to get sound too, please do.
Hope this helps.
