Where to buy a period house close to open spaces in northeast/east London, budget around £900K

Hi,
Looking to buy a 3-bedroom period terraced house in East London. Currently living in Hackney near the marshes and love the easy access to open spaces but I think Hackney is unaffordable to us. It will be me and 2 DC (adult but not financially independent) so schools not important nor Tube access particularly. Are there any quiet streets of period terraced houses in Tottenham/Waltham Forest I should look at? I really like original features so no pebbledash/PVC windows and want a house rather than flat. Could also consider 2 bedroom if there was a decent sized kitchen and separate reception room. Any advice to help me narrow my focus welcomed!

Have you looked or considered around Downhills Park/Lordship Rec in Tottenham?

Something like these OP? Am I in the right ballpark as these are a lot below 900k

If you're willing to move a little further out, eg Chingford or Enfield, on that budget you could get a really special house within walking distance of open greenbelt countryside.

Highams Park. Near the station there are some lovely quite residential roads with beautiful Edwardian houses. And you’ve got the forest nearby.

Wow thanks everyone, seems like I'm not being unreasonable thinking I can get something I like with this budget.

@worriedmumoftwo not at all- I actually set my parameters quite a bit lower on Rightmove, partly through experience. I've known people miss some gems simply through setting parameters too high

Bushwood or the area immediately north of Cann Hall Road in Leytonstone.

Definitely Highams Park - look near The Charter, you will be straight into Epping Forest, 10 mins walk from the overground, nice area, nice locals.

I've logged into mums net for second time ever just to respond as we were looking for EXACTLY what you were looking for and from the same area- we were right on edge or marshes and Loved it. We moved to E17 and rented and looked around for ages, eventually settling on the area just north of forest road- Ulverston, Castleton, Woodstock, Becontree roads and surrounding. Have a look on the map but it's right on the edge of the forest that is the entryway to Epping or you can go the other way onto the flats. You get bigger houses here and more for your money than in other parts of e17 (partly because it's nearest station Is wood st overground rather than the Victoria line) it feels like "rural Walthamstow" but there is a lovely community up here. Other areas we considered were as people suggested- Highams Park (loved it- not much comes on that regularly) and Brushwood (go outbid hideously as it's clearly v sought after).

I won't lie- being beside hackney marshes with also Chatsworth road/clapton "the city" right on your doorstep was a dream and I would have loved to have stayed in that area but this feels a little like a quieter pace of life with the city(and wood st/the village etc) all at your fingertips too. We're happy !

I should add, we got a 3 bed victorian for under 900k. great garden and good sized kitchen too.

Wow Lena you must have been living close by me. I currently overlook Millfields Park and love the area. How long ago did you move if you don't mind my asking?

You’d get something nice well under budget in Tottenham, if you’re looking for a bargain

Oh that house is gorgeous!

I would not choose Tottenham, it's still a bit rough. But the same was true of Clapton back in the day and the OP has lived on murder mile.

I'd love to live on Becontree Ave - we often go into the forest from there. It's a long hike to the train and tube though.
