Any advice would be appreciated. Over the years had window fitted a few over a space of 2 years. Was told the windows would be registered with fensa. Thought nothing of it. Now we are looking into selling in the New Year and listing our property. Looked at all the info on selling your house and checked our files to see we never had a certificate and have been online to order a certificate to find it was ever logged by the company.

What can I do? This was over ten years ago and I never kept any paperwork from the window company (who keep moving locations and changing hands). We won’t be able to sell our house will we??

I wouldn't care if I could see the british kitemark markings on them, and had the purchase paperwork showing they aren't 30 years old.

Oh they are have the kitemark and some are toughened safety glass. Can’t find any of the invoices from the company. I did a big clear out a few years ago and cleared out a lot of receipts etc. I didn’t think twice about keeping them. I never keep anything past 5 years (so got rid off). I don’t even think the company is still going!!! If only I had thought about it!! Feel such a prat

Wouldn't cross my mind. I'd be more concerned about a buyer being so invested in that paperwork!

If you look at the inside edge of the double glazing you will find the date of manufacture for the glass.

I had the same for my windows, patio door and boarding & insulating my loft space, velux window etc.
I took out indemnity insurance to cover it all, cost £150, ask your solicitor, mine arranged it and added the £150 to my final bill.

We had no paperwork for our windows on the house we recently bought.

Didn't really bother us as they clearly need replacing anyway.
