Tiles... can anyone offer an opinion on this?

I've got a bathroom fitter working on my bathroom. I came home today to find the tiles like this and I'm not happy. But am I jumping the gun? They aren't grouted yet, so will this look better? My thoughts are that the tile trim looks too big, the joins look shoddy, and I don't really know how the corners where the tiles meet are going to look because surely they can't be grouted and look okay? They aren't good cuts imo.
Help! Do I ask now, or am I jumping the gun?

Here are some more which show the tiles in the corners 😬.

I agree - the trim is too big, there shouldn't be a gap like that, and the corners are awful. Is he even a tiler? I've tiled better than that.

He's a bathroom fitter. Says he does tiling. I've had a builder and it's who he uses for bathroom work. Builder has done a fab job, so I'm disappointed with the bathroom work 😩 when everything else has been brilliant.

I purchased the trim, he told me what to buy so I did. He said get 1mm more than tiles (he told me how big the tiles were) which is what I got. This looks more than 1mm though.

I would say he has put a lot of effort in there. He has worked to create an illusion that the tiles in the corners, go around the corner, giving the illusion of equal sizes.
Tiles are laid in a brick-bond.
That’s what I get from the photos anyway.

I think the fact that the tiles are beveled at the edges makes the trim look odd. Where the tiles are cut, the trim has to take into account the high and low spots. Not easy, but there are other types of trim. It will be better when it's grouted, but you'll still see it.

Agree with PP about the bond. Other than the trim, it's not a bad job. He'll run a bag of silicon up the corner.

I think the tiling looks great but the trim, not so much.

The tiling looks poor - they don't line up! And I wouldn't use trim on bevelled edges. Not sure what the solution is gif the edges but I would not be happy with the black grouted ones.

@LittleRebelGirl I agree with @HappiestSleeping they have bevelled edges so the tile itself has 2 thicknesses if cut. Therefore the tile trim he has chosen seems fine to me as there appears to be cut tiles at the window. They have to use tile trim on a vertical as the brick bond style you have chosen means there will always be a cut edge.

Once it is grouted it will better hide the join of the tile trim and it will level out the top of the bevel and fill in the gap at the trim. Personally grouting bevelled edge tiles is a pain in the arse due to the uneven surface so good luck to him.

I think you are jumping the gun, I am not sure what grout colour you are going for but either white or grey will look fine. The 1mm deeper than the tile is for the adhesive behind and a cut tile needs that depth. As I said it is because you chose bevelled tiles.

You can convey your concerns and I am sure he would send you a pic when he starts grouting to reassure you.
