Kitchen Units in other rooms of house?

jaylin · 24/10/2023 09:43

Morning, I hope im not mad ;-)

Ive been looking at storage options for my living and dining rooms. Yes IKEA is always a good go to for things but im not convinced theyre that sturdy and in particular our home when it comes to wall fixing..

I was reading an Australian story (after I googled) that suggested carefully chosen Kitchen Units would be good in both Living and Dining Rooms as well as their modular approach etc. Looking through their pictures etc, they may be on to something.

Would it be ok to ask if similar thoughts and possible approaches from forum colleagues on here?

Look forward to reply and some very useful discussion please..

My kindest....

Chasingsquirrels
Lets have a look for what might suit you tomorrow. I think it will suit me too. Finding add on towers for me is easy but the base unit likely same as suits you...

Morning chasingsquirrels... what about the Ikea METOD which is 800 wide by 392 deep by 880 high and a lovely 2 door option ...

Too high for you?

There are other colours but this is similar colour frame and its cheapest cost at moment....

Thoughts?

If you get the kitchen stori brochure there is whole section on built in storage in other areas of the home. It works well with open plan living

And dog showers!

Hi nodogz
I think they stopped doing paper catalogs years ago. Unless theres an online one?

Not relevant to what OP is looking for but don't forget if you are wanting shalllow options you can use wall cabinets rather than base ones.

jaylin · 25/10/2023 12:00

mmm... wall cabinets for use low level?.. interesting thought :-)

I'm not sure about living right unless they're ultra modern but we've got glossy white kitchen units in a bathroom here (cut down so theyre about 2/3 depth. We hadn't been able to find what we wanted in the designated bathroom choices.

gotomomo · 25/10/2023 13:10

I prefer real wood but I'd certainly use howdens doors etc

jaylin · 25/10/2023 14:36

After being quiet throughout, but quiet and knowing what I was assessing... My partner tonight says "I don't want kitchen units in dining ang lounge" and walks out of room 😂.. So over to them to choose but know they won't particularly find the storage needed (as piccie I posted on here)... Will go lie low.. Thanks for help folks.. was a blast 👍
