Talk to me about under-stair loo decor

We're having a loo put into what was a cupboard under our stairs.
I've no idea where to start regarding decorating it.
I've chosen quite a traditional sink / toilet to go in. But I quite like the idea of going quite bold with the decor but I just don't know where to start.
Has anyone got a loo inspo they can share? Photos or links?

This is wonderful! Where did you get the wallpaper from?

It’s all hand painted with a stencil. I bought a cricut just so I could make the stencil, painted the purple and then very slowly applied the pattern.
i then had to paint every eye in individually and because glow in the dark pigment won’t work within normal white paint I then had to mix that into a PVA mix and paint every eye again…. It was a labour of love😂

There was a small hidden sound box in there too that’s motion activated and played the organ music when you walked in but I ended up turning it off because it drove both dh and I mad After a week 😂

We have a 1930s house - we were trying for a deco New York skyline with the tiles in the loo, but I think it went somewhat awry...

We have a framed postcard collection - I like vintage postcards of places we have visited. The walls are a plain duck egg blue.

We have a superhero themed loo, marvel pictures instead of wallpaper and a light up Hulk fist sticking out of the wall! Captain Marvel holds the loo roll!!! The rest of our house is very old fashioned so it makes me smile as visitors are so shocked.

Thank you. I think downstairs loo's are rooms crying out for a bit of fun with. I'd be threatening to do it for years, literally every time I came back from a Disneyland trip, but finally decided to go for it.
It was an absolute labour of love, especially because I bought the Cricut to make the stencil, but the machine I bought wouldn't print it full size so I had to do it in parts. I think I was dreaming it for a few nights 😂

Now if I had @bluesatin deco loo I'd be theming that to the Tower of Terror ride.😂

When we get to do ours, I plan to go bonkers too. The rest of the house is going to be very neutral so the smallest room in the house is getting it! clashing wall paper/flooring/ loud basin.

We used local ordnance survey maps on a wall behind a door in a previous house. It was quite cheap to do as they’re not that expensive. They’d give you something to look at while on the loo 😁.
