Splashback colours that go with cashmere coloured DIY kitchen

I’ve managed to make a decision on getting glass between countertops and kitchen units……and that decision has taken quite a while! The units are from DIY kitchens and are cashmere coloured, the countertop is a white quartz with a thin marbling line. I just can’t decide on the colour of glass. The glass can be colour matched to any of the paints. I’ve spent far too long thinking about nearly the F&B colours, but can’t make a decision. Has anyone got a cashmere DIY kitchen? If so what colour did you go for between the base and wall units? Would really appreciate some ideas……..

Not overly helpful, we just went with an upstand on the worktop then white painted walls.

Thank you. Does plain white bring out the pinky tones of the cashmere colour? I think that’s what I’m trying to achieve……

@itsgonnabe Our flat is a cashmere kitchen. We just have painted walls and a quartz upstand. It’s white flecked. Decent paint you can wipe is better than grouted tiles. Quartz behind hob too. F&B modern emulsion works well.

Thank you, interesting about paint rather than glass…….I’ll have a rethink. What colour paint have you gone for?

A bit boring! Strong White. However it’s a kitchen/dining/living space so we’ve got all the colour in 6 blinds at quite big sash windows. I would go for a red/earthy white but I like cool wall colours. We have oak floors throughout which looks good in my view.

Not boring at all!!! Strong white is the colour I’m leaning towards…….south facing light room here. Does the strong white look at all yellow/sepia against the quartz and cashmere? That’s my concern with strong white. But sounds as though you’re happy with it. But I’m off to look at red/earthy whites now. Thank you

If you're staying a long time why not get an abstract hand coloured (lots of colours) glass made - reminiscent of murano. My friend has this instead of tiles around 3 walls and it is stunning!
Random Internet pic for illustration.

OP can't help you with it as a splash back but we've just used Strong White in a west facing lounge and tbh we may as well have used trade brilliant white. If anything it's got a grey/green tinge but only in certain lights.
I'm disappointed.

TizerorFizz · 18/10/2023 20:07

@itsgonnabe We have 6 windows and south/west facing so it’s a good neutral in my view. You could go Pointing which is a warmer white or All White which is brighter.

itsgonnabe · 18/10/2023 20:56

Wish I was brave enough for that @Firsttimecaller I’ve lived with multicoloured tiles for 20 years which is why I think I’m chasing neutral and plain now.

@Houseplanter I was hoping strong white somehow magically reflected surrounding colours but maybe I’m expecting too much. I’m sorry you’re disappointed

I’ve also got F&B Wevet and Dulux White Mist in my radar, I’ll look and research All White @TizerorFizz thank you. Ive ruled Pointing out as it’s too similar to what I’ve had on the walls for many years now. But on the plus side that is at least a decision I’ve actually made!!

I have Wevet. It’s a very very pale grey. Light reflecting. Get your sample pots ordered!

MrsOosh77 · 18/10/2023 21:15

We have dulux timeless in diamond matt so it can be wiped with a cashmere kitchen and quartz with a warm grey vein if that helps?

MollsDolls · 18/10/2023 21:19

We went with a navy geometric laminate splashback as I didn't want a plain one and could find what I wanted in glass.

@MollsDolls , that’s very smart and sleek. Although I’ve not got cashmere units fitted yet, even the sample door seems to vary from being a light colour to a dark one. We’re keeping a gas hob, so can’t have laminate without glass.

Have you got the timeless painted between work top and wall units @MrsOosh77 ? Your colours sound similar to what I’ve ordered. I’ll check that colour out in day light tomorrow. Thank you

I’ve got the sample pots (unfortunately purchased before their offer of third pot free) @TizerorFizz but you’ve given me a good idea. I think I need to paint some Wevet next to ceiling to see how it differs from plain white, I’ll do that tomorrow too

Not the best photo but upstairs now! Yes. Upstand-timeless- top cupboard. To the right is a range cooker and the quartz spans hob to cooker hood.

Our quartz goes from worktop to cooler hood too behind the hob. It’s a gas hob. It’s easy to clean.

HomelyK · 20/10/2023 21:34

My sister in law has just had this kitchen installed and using f&b swatches we found joas white brought out the pinky tones beautifully in her east facing room

TerfTalking · 21/10/2023 08:38

Both mum, myself and DS have cashmere coloured shaker kitchens. DS went for white metro tiles, mum went for glass in Antelope and I just have upstands, my range splash back is in the same Dekton white stone as the worktops.

All the same units but with different tops, handles and splash backs they all look completely different.

my walls are Dulux Indian White.

Thank you @TerfTalking …. So your mum went with a darker glass? Hadn’t even thought about going darker. You must all love the colour cashmere-what a recommendation! Howdens agreed to price match my cashmere kitchen but I like the colour so much and Howdens don’t offer cashmere, so I stuck with DIY kitchen. I think I’m decided on glass, going to see how Indian Summer looks compared to all the other samples I’ve considered.

@HomelyK i love Joa’s white. From colour chart I’d worry it’s too dark. But would you say it’s not? I guess not otherwise you’ve have gone lighter with dimity perhaps?

All very interesting. Thank you
