Ballpark figure for knocking kitchen into dining room

Our house is a 70s design with a lounge/diner and galley kitchen. I'd like to wall up between lounge and dining room then knock through kitchen into dining room.

Not sure if the wall between the kitchen dining room is load bearing.

I'd need to budget for 25-30k for the works and new kitchen even if the kitchen was midrange, wouldn't I? I'm in the north if that makes any difference.

Following with interest.

We've just paid £10k to have some walls in the bedrooms knocked down, a stud wall put up, then the same walls underneath in the kitchen knocked down and a steel put in downstairs. Two steels in fact, back to back.

No electrics, plumbing or plastering in that figure - that was all done as part of the kitchen. We are in the south east and it took about 2-3 weeks.

The kitchen can cost as much or as little as you want, it depends where you go and who fits it and how much extra work is required.

Load bearing I paid £9000 but a large opening, the steel was expensive. That included skip and plastering and needed some electrics re run and a radiator moved.

2 years ago - SW
wall out, steel in, radiator moved, some basic replastering - inc. structural engineers fees and building control - £2,500

This is pretty much what we're having done next year... Based on current quotes and depending on kitchen/worktops/flooring we ultimately decide on, I expect it will cost around £25k all in, (including kitchen, appliances and everything), hoping for less but it's doubtful!

We're in the middle of having this done now... approx £15k to have load bearing wall taken down, extensive steels put in (as required by the structural engineer), new electrics to kitchen, new plumbing to kitchen / utility, blocking up of 2 doors and walls skimmed. £17.5k for a Howdens solid wood kitchen (minus appliances & worktop). Quartz worktops approx £4k. Lvt floor throughout the new room approx £7k. New room size approx 55sqm - 10m x 5.5m. I hope this helps.

Forgot to say, we're in the NW. It's honestly much more expensive than I anticipated but will make a huge difference to our house.
