Adding a bath to wet room

The bathroom of my flat is a wet room with altro flooring + an electric waste pump. I am desperate to put a bath in, and for a new floor otherwise I like the bathroom so don’t want a whole new one.

Has anyone done this before and approx how much can I expect to pay for this to be done (not including materials).

If I had a bath in I would prefer the small remaining floor space to be tiled but would settle for Lino.

Im on a tight budget, appreciate all answers

thanks

A wet room has a tray system underneath it which makes the whole/most of the bathroom waterproof. If you put a bath in, it will need plumbing and waste pipes which will mean that the floor needs taking up. I assume there is a shower? The disruption to the floor will mean that it isn't waterproof any more and you might need a shower tray. The waterproofing systems sometimes come up the walls a bit so you migh need some tiles removed to allow the floor to be taken up but they might just be able to cut through it.

Basically it will be more messy and disruptive than you think and might be similar cost to a new bathroom.

I had this done a few months ago - a tiny shower room changed to a bath with a small budget. It wasn’t as big/ disruptive a job as we’d feared and at £1900 much cheaper than replacing the whole bathroom. I’ll attach pictures so you can see how it might compare to your project.

Oh and that was including materials: bath, taps and shower screen.

They have done a nice job of that.

Thank you, yes they really did - we worried about the amount of work with all the pipes and tray system like you mentioned and thought we might as well save up to do the whole bathroom but were pleasantly surprised. Maybe we were lucky with the existing pipework or something!
