Correct order to renovate

I've just bought a new house (probably awful timing but hey.. ). I'd really like to do the following and would love some thoughts as to the best order to do them. The jobs are as follows: (1) Loft conversion (with ensuite+ dressing room), (2) knock through kitchen and dining room (3) house currently has a separate WC to the bath and sink. Unfortunately these rooms are not next to each other so plan is to knock through to the bedroom adjoining the WC to create a big bathroom. We'd then position the stairs for the loft conversion and an office area in the (tiny) room which currently has the sink and bath. (4) Lots of general redecoration and new floors. I'm not expecting much change from 200k for the above so I really want to make sure I do it properly! I'd love any thoughts from experienced mumsnetters (we can afford to do it at the same time but I fear for my sanity with two kids under five...).

Contract a builder, move out and let them get on with it.

And I'm not being facetious.

I think the usual advice is start at the top of the house and work your way down.

I agree with Twiglets, start at the top, also definitely contract a builder to seek their professional advice and opinion. You can also use floor planning programs, something like https://interior-design3d.com/ or similar. If you have a plan of your house, you can download it right there and build a 3d model automatically.

As above, move out and let them to it. Get the messy structural stuff done first along with electrics and plumbing. Other jobs follow on from there.

from other people's experience that I know. live in the house first. see what you need/feel and start from there :)
