Kitchen Installation Costs

We're looking at getting our new Kitchen from B&Q just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and potential fitting costs? I feel like this is a common thing with kitchens in general where you end up paying almost as much as the kitchen for the fitting and installation

Had a 25k quote for a kitchen recently that would have been 6k to fit. A builder however quoted us 3k, without worktops.

It depends. Will the existing kitchen need removal? Walls made good? Electric sockets moving? Additional sockets installing? Floor tiled? Plumbing moved?

If it is a straight forward new units more or less where the old ones were, then you will pay about 4 days of a decent carpenters time, so 600 to 800 give or take a bit.

If any / all of the additional bits are required, then the sky could be the limit.

If you can possibly do so, I would recommend removing the old kitchen first, getting any sockets / electrics moved while the room is clear, then get it plastered ready for the cabinets to go in. It means you will have to project manage it, but it will minimise the cost of the trades as they won't have to work around stuff so much so will be faster.

Make sure you have a good plan and don't deviate from it. Unexpected changes raise costs disproportionately.

The whole kitchen will have been removed as a wall is coming down, so new electrics will be in place so it really is just a case of fitting new kitchen cupboards and appliances. There's a lot of work to do anyway so we're project managing the whole thing to cut costs. Just feel as though there's no real benchmark for simply having a new kitchen fitted

That's such a great saving. So did you source your own installer? This is what I want to do but obviously don't want to sacrifice on the quality of the fitting
