I'd find a couple of homeless people, don't give them the keys though, just tell them it's empty and they will do the rest. I don't suggest you do this though. What's she been doing?

Tut tut. that's very naughty! You can either take her to the small claims court to get the bond back or go and see a solicitor. If you let squatters in you are probably going to lose your bond. Have you spoken to the CAB?

mace · 04/03/2008 22:47

been to cab they couldnt help told me to ring shelter and cant realy afford a solicitor think im gonna have to forget about my bond and and think of some other way to get my own back the squatters should help a little but have you any ideas what i could do

take it's renting direct and not via an agency?

mace · 05/03/2008 19:20

yes im renting direct i cant see a way of getting my bond back im so as the landlady will not speak to me about the matter she just keeps telling me "if i move out i wont get my bond back" i cant see why she is doing this as i have been a real good tenent even fixing things myself so i wouldnt bother her. If i stay here i will loose the new house either way im stuck between a rock and a hard place! I try telling myself its only £400 but the woman makes me burn inside im not sure wether to cause £400 worth of damage or does anybody have any ideas what would cause her trouble without the damage?

Ive been looking for my contract but cant find it, I must have packed it in a box im moving tomorrow you see and i cant find out what she has done with my bond because she will not answer the phone ive even tried rining from a friends phone and my mums but she just doesnt answer or she put it straight down. A solicitor is out of my reach money wise and reading through most of these web sites it is all very confusing one says one thing and another says another. I do thank you all for posting and trying to help me but I think im at a loss just another person to walk all over me.

mace, please don't do anything illegal yourself eg cause damage etc or she will have a right to keep your bond plus could sue you for criminal damage. Likewise do not give the keys to anyone else. Move to your new place then write a letter giving her 7 days to send you a cheque or you will be taking legal action for the recovery of the money. Keep a copy of the letter. If she doesn't pay up take her to the small claims court (no solicitor required).
