I'm getting horrid Donald Trump vibes from this place; the golf simulator would be a far better walk-in wardrobe! The original went on sale in May 2023 so they've done a quick turnaround job

The OMAZE House Scotland - Tantallon Lodge is very "Masculine" Dark and Light. Acoustics will be terrible but for nerds like me it does have a server room and Ultrafast Broadband.
For those of you that like cesspits, it has a communal shared waste system. I had hoped to get away from others blocking it up. Have to win forst of course!
I am not a golf fan, but I think I could live there.
They never think of disabled access, but study 2 could be a ground floor bedroom temporarily and only the sitting room is inaccessible to a wheelchair because of two steps all round. At least other living space is accessible from a wheel chair. Would need a stair lift installed - probably too expensive for a full lift. The kitchen at least has ovens off the floor.

It looks amazing! I love the house but wouldn’t want to relocate there so I’d sell it after a holiday there! 😆

I would love to live there, partly because I love the area, my grandmother lived a few miles away.

I have zero interest in golf but have a relative who is a professional golfer who could come and use the simulator. Maybe I could let people rent the simulator so I could afford the running costs!

Looking online it was purchased in July this year for £1.3m, having been marketed by Savills for £3.75m

Where do they show the running costs? I'm sure I've seen them before, but can't find them this time.

It looks as though it will be draughty with all those open plan rooms #practical. I love the snug, and that breakfasting nook. I literally snorted when I saw the virtual golf room though😂. My brother would love that, but as he's in Australia he wouldn't get much use out of it. An entertainment room and a cinema room seems a bit like couch potato heaven - my husband would be in one or the other all day, watching World At War or something, but you could have good parties. the hot tub would have to go, though, and I'd probably repurpose the gym.

I'd love to win it, but it's not my favourite yet by a long way.

You must have fancy McDonalds where you live.

You'd 100% need a full time cleaner, I think. Also, I never know how people clean those double height areas. They look amazing, but think of the cobwebs on the inside and bird poo on the outside.

I looked at Land Registry burdens so I think monthly running costs are much higher. One fourteenth of concierge salary, pension contribution, housing and maintenance cost, I estimate as 5k per year and one fourteenth of services cost, sewerage etc, approx 2k per year, index linked, then share of one off communal area maintenance costs, roads, trees etc.
Also restrictions on pet numbers and type of pet. Possibly Air-bnb style letting banned, no letting off parts like annex.

House insurance has to be proven annually and full reinstatement or site clearance, not cheap, probably 5 to 8k per year, e.g through Hiscox.

The factors are showing a charge of almost £5k though it includes property maintenance, building insurance and garden maintenance.
The local authority charges are about £4500 including water and sewage charges. Then there is electric and oil heating charges.
But I would still move in tomorrow.

This is what annoys me about these Omaze houses. They look lovely, but then have hugh rooms and swimming pools that you'd have to be able to afford to heat and use. someone on a previous competition told them they' go in for a competition to win a place in Scotland, so it's good to see this.

I'd also go for one in Scotland, just esomething that has more character than this place, which I think is soleless and awful.

It's good to know that you can do that. I would hate to have to do a video, and make statements about how winning would change my life. They don't make it clear that it's an option though - there is something in the T&Cs about taking part in reasonable publicity.

Good to know you can have privacy as in the t&c it suggested the publicity shots were expected and that's always put me off entering, along with the properties often having some issue and assumed Omaze had picked them up cheap because they didn't sell for a reason but seems not or they've improved due to bad publicity with the cliff house & one that flooded.

I'd like a house in Scotland too, while I didn't mind the wood style of the house it looked far too large and more golf clubhouse on the advert. It seems natural use would be holiday let for golfers but didn't realise was private estate with rules & extra costs. Those Home Owner Associations that are popular on US estates would be my nightmare, ideally I'd want good distance from any neighbours 😂

I wonder if they sell with all the furniture? That must be worth quite a lot in itself, and unless you’re moving to a similar size house you’d struggle to find somewhere to put it all.

It’s ridiculous to think it but of the houses up to that date that was the one I would have sold immediately.
