Worktop recommendations

Hi all,

We currently have a solid wood kitchen worktop in our kitchen that's been in since we bought the house 6 years ago.

I've absolutely hated it since day one, it permanently feels sticky and it never feel as though it's clean.

We have sanded it down and re-oiled it in the past but it didn't make any difference at all.

We now have 2 young children and it's time to get rid of it and get a worktop that looks and feels clean.

Can anyone recommend where to buy good kitchen worktops from? (I'd prefer one that looks like wood if that's relevant)

Thanks

Worktop Express were efficient and cheap.

I have wooden worktops which I have polyurethane painted , they are now water repellent and much easier to clean ( yacht varnish is the thing).

I have new laminate worktops that can withstand heat up to 160 degrees. I got Matt oak effect. So easy to keep clean.

Oh and I am just recommending good quality laminate, I can't give a recommendation as I am not in UK. Sorry!
