White sink recommendations

Going for dark blue cabinets, with white countertops and copper coloured handles and tap. A stainless steel sink will then look silly with it I think. So I’m looking for recommendations for the best type of white sink pretty please! Preferably not too crazy priced (£250 max if possible).

Someone I know has a similar kitchen, with a white sink, the sink isn’t the same white shade of white as the counter top, I wouldn’t like that personally, the sink in more a creamy shade of white, the counter tops are more of a brilliant white.

I have had a white sink in the past, you will need to be bleaching it regularly they show every stain, in my experience.

A black sink would look nice with a copper tap IMHO, unless you have Stainless Steel sink with a Chrome tap. I agree a copper tap with stainless steel sink would look odd.

Lovely colour combination!
Sorry, I can’t answer your question for a specific recommendation as our sink was put in by the previous owner.
However, white sinks are very easy to keep clean - you can lightly spritz it with some dilute bleach or dettol mould and mildew remover; leave for 5mins; rinse and it’ll be sparkling white. No elbow grease needed at all.

@Roselilly36 thank you. I did wonder if the shade of white would be quite different. I wasn’t sure if a black sink with the white countertops would look odd?

@iwantabreakfastpantry thank you! This is reassuring. I’ve heard such contrasts on keeping white sinks clean. Some saying they’re awful to clean, and others saying far easier than any other type of sink. We’ve had stainless steel until now and I find they look worn after a while.

Ours is a Howden composite. I wouldn't put in again. It's not easy to keep looking nice.

@GardeningQuestionTime thank you for your reply. Is that because it stains quite a bit? Are the marks difficult to get out?

@GardeningQuestionTime i’ve just put in Howdens composite sink in white, it has been in a couple of weeks and hardly used, but I’d welcome any advice on how to look after it. Thank you in advance.

I had a white composite sink installed 25 years ago and it's still going strong 😁.

A couple of things to bear in mind: use a sink mat or basket to protect the sink and bleach regularly. I bleach my dishcloth weekly in the base of the sink so both jobs get done simultaneously. It only takes 5 minutes.

@WaltzingWaters We have a white composite sink from Wickes I think. I wouldn’t have another, it’s a pain to keep clean and always looks a bit grubby in places, particularly around the tap. Ours expressly said do not use bleach or strong cleaners. I do obviously because how else can I clean it but it has damaged it.

Thank you everyone. Seems it’s a 50/50 on people saying they’re great to clean and others saying they’re awful to keep clean!
