Google suggests that it's a fancy-pants looking wooden structure that sits underneath the sill. A bit like an architrave for your windowsill.

OP, it looks as though they have to be crafted out of various bits of wood attached together rather than bought off the shelf?

Ah, as I thought 😫

I know it sounds like a daft thing to want to buy but my hallway windowsill has an unsightly gap underneath it, it seemed the perfect way to cover it.

I understand. Having looked at a few of them I reckon you could cobble something together yourself with a hacksaw, a few bits of ornately shaped wood and some wood glue.

Some DIY stores will even cut bits of wood to length for you if you ask them nicely.

Nobody cuts wood with a hacksaw.

Nobody cuts wood with a hacksaw.

… and that is why I am not in the building profession!

I was trying to think of a way without an expensive outlay, i.e. circular saw, otherwise OP might as well pay a carpenter to make it.

Do you have a better suggestion?

You could probably make one with a bit of architrave from Wickes or somewhere like that

Think the op is looking for something like this ? Its just a piece of timber moulding stuck up the window to hid the plaster to cill join. Its been returned on the ends to make a neater finish.

Surely a bit of cornice would work? Hardware shops even sell thicker polystyrene type ones (not obvious they are) which would be a doddle to trim and paint.

Has it shown an interest in baking?
