The phone number on key is out of service and named company appears ceased trading in 2021.

I've seen a key cutting machine in DIY store so not sure if that can just cut it for me.... Timpsons wont do it due to the markings.

What can i do apart from changing locks?

Hmmm, i think you're gonna have to change the locks.

How old is the door?

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to do it in a DIY store. The whole point of the markings is that you need permission to do it - otherwise anyone could walk into a DIY store with your key and copy it.

I might not have explained myself very well. I'll try again.

I brought a new front door last year. It came with 4 identical keys that can't be replicated without my permission. Now, if someone were to take that key into Timpsons they would rightly refuse to replicate it - BUT - even if they did agree to replicate it, they couldn't without the code. So If Timpsons can't do it, I'd be absolutely amazed (not to mention furious) if you could just walk into a DIY store and get the key replicated.

Whats the situation you're in? Have you lost the spare?

You'll need to get the locks changed - go with someone like Banham who have lots of stores to get new ones cut, but has to be the owner who does it.

I’m not sure of the make of key you have, but when we moved into our house, we were given a code incase we needed more keys cut.
Over time, the piece of paper with the code on it got lost. We then needed another key cut so took it down to a key cutting place. They could not replicate it as it was a specialist key and we didn’t have the key code.
In the end I emailed Garrison locks who made the original key, and they advised me to send them a photograph of both sides of the key. From that they were able to re-issue the key code and I was able to get more keys cut. This was in 2017, but sadly I can’t remember whether Garrison keys replaced the keys or whether a High Street key cutting shop did it.

My B&Q has a machine that does it for you. £7. Pop it in. Get it scan. Out comes a new key.

No one to stop you.

A friend had a key to her rented flat that said do not copy on it. She found an online site that did her a copy from a photograph, which worked perfectly. It was a while ago, but I'm sure google would bring something up.

Hi all

So I emailed a few locksmiths with photos of the keys and one said that this key is made by Manufacturer XYZ and they have the license so get in touch with them. Manufacturer responded promptly and said license held by locksmith ABC.

Locksmith ABC is now getting manufacturer to cut new copies for me but will take 4 weeks . Seems odd that it is a little circular...

However I didn't need to produce any ID..I'm not sure if they have the address matched to the key so hence it is being posted to the right place so they didn't bother.

I am still intrigued if the local DIY (self service key cutting machine will do it)...I think not as these have a non-circular shaped head ..
