Some of you told me you enjoy these in yesterday's thread so here I am with a new one today :)
Would you buy one of these and why?
(Recap for those not familiar with the area: SW London/Surrey Border, very expensive area, great schools, amazing commute, safe, lots of amenities, cafes, riverside etc)

Disclaimer: no I am not an EA, I am just someone who would like to purchase a property at some point soon and I want to better understand the local market and people perception.

2nd disclaimer: no this budget doesn't get you a house here in central Surbiton. The ones you see advertised on RM for this price range are almost always near Tolworth, which is a very different area.

One is SSTC, the other 2 don’t have details of service charges/sc contract or ground rents.
So not enough information to make a decision.

BananaMamas · 22/08/2023 10:00

@C4tastrophe this is just hypothetical, I am not buying any of these

Am surprised the prices are that high. I'm a stone's throw away in Putney.

LunaLoveFood · 22/08/2023 10:07

Just going by looks and lifestyle alone (not thinking about prices and charges etc).
I actually really like all 3 but think I would chose one of the two with their own balcony to have a little of your own outside space.

KievLoverTwo · 22/08/2023 10:11

I don't really like the formality of 1 and 3. I always feel as though I would get told off for sneezing wrong in a gated community.

I love no. 2. I think it would be really lovely looking out the windows and seeing the pretty, old buildings and courtyard. It feels like the sort of place neighbours get together in summer to crochet and drink Pimm's.

I would call the agent and say 'call me if the sale falls through please?' :)

I am glad you have moved on from basement flats!

ClematisBlue49 · 22/08/2023 10:25

I like the first one best, and it has the best bathroom (which is a key factor for me), but none of them are ideal. The second one needs a lot of work. The third one is hard to comment on as there aren't enough photos. All of them have the kitchen and reception rooms at opposite ends of the property, which I don't like, but perhaps that is more typical in purpose built flats? The communal gardens all seem nice.

rainbug · 23/08/2023 10:15

I think the layout of the first and third flats are really nice, I like being able to have a small kitchen in the dining room. However the building that flat two is in and the surrounding gardens are really beautiful so that may just sway me

2 for me. Lovely building and grounds. Share of freehold. Near the river. Garage and storage. Downsides are though no balcony and kitchen is separated from the living room by the bathroom.
